What To Do With Bridal Show Swag

Bridal Expo Calgary was just a couple of weekends ago. If you are like most brides, you collected a ton of information at the show and it is probably all still in the swag bag you got at the show. Rather than tipping over the bag and recycling all the contents, here are some tips on what you can do with all that information:

1) Dump everything out onto the floor/desk/table. Once it is all out of the bag, you are more likely to go through it. Don't take out each thing one by one. You will get tired of the whole process and end up recycling it all. (The point is not to do this, in case you didn't already get this.)

2) Organize the promotional material by categories. All the photographers get put together in a stack, you get it. Once you have everything in stacks, you can then decide which "stacks" are relevant to you. If you have already booked a photographer, you don't need to go through the stack of photographers. Pick out the stacks that are relevant and then move to step 3.

3) Determine your criteria when hiring a vendor. Is it their style, their personality, or the costs of services? Once you know this, go through the promotional materials and filter them down.

4) If you have followed these steps, you should now only be left with a couple of promotional materials for a couple of vendors. This is great! You can now check out their websites for more information or even contact them for a meeting. Having done all of this, you can safely say you didn't waste your energy lugging all of that stuff around the show and you accomplished your goal of potentially finding some awesome vendors!

5) Last step, recycle all the promotional materials that you are not interested in and eat any cake samples you might have found at the bottom of your bag. It should still be good. Cake is always good.

Bridal Expo 2015 - Wishahmon

Bridal Expo 2015 was a huge success for so many reasons!

Here are some of the reasons:
1. I got to hang out with a bunch of wonderful gals at the Wishahmon booth.
2. We treated ourselves to $10 manicures from our neighbor, Gel Moment.
3. We got to meet and visit with a lot of wonderful vendors.
4. We had tons of fun talking to brides and grooms about their wedding!
5. We took an endless number of photos for brides and grooms with our photo cut out of Mr. Bacon and Mrs. Egg-Bacon.

This is Me (Bacon) and Kelly of Lovesky Designs (Egg)

For those that didn't notice right away, we actually had bacon and egged themed save the date cards, wedding invitations, and thank you cards too. The photo cut out and invitations were done by the talented Eva and Vanessa. They will be starting their invitation very soon! Once they are officially in business, I will definitely tell everyone through this blog too. Huge thanks to Eva and Vanessa! The photo cut out was egg-cellent.

Because I my baby's first year birthday party was on the same day as booth set up, I had no idea how I could get my booth put together. Thankfully, Theresa from Exquisite Events Calgary came to my rescue. She came by late Saturday night to help me set up my stunning booth. I wouldn't have such a stunning booth if it wasn't for her. I would literally have an empty booth with the photo cut out and invitations. Thank you Theresa! If you ever need help with a set up, I'm there!

Our Blog Surpassed 200000 Views

Despite being in la-la-land for the last two months and neglecting our blog ever so slightly, we learned this morning our blog has surpassed 200000 views.

Thank you to our readers for all the support through the years and especially the last couple of months. The last month has been especially busy and challenging for me. We will get back to our regular blogging schedule very soon, like next week. I promise.

What's New at Wishahmon - September 2015

So, blogging in August was kind of a bust. I thought I could keep up with blogging but three projects ended up taking most of my time, energy, and head space. Here is what we have been working on:

Consignment Shop Closure
It was a great three years for our wedding consignment boutique, Wishahmon Glorious Gowns, but we will be officially closed by the end of September. We want to thank all of the consignors that bought their gowns to consign with us and all the brides that bought a gown with us. We are extremely happy and proud we were able to play matchmaker for many brides with their perfect gown.

Bridal Expo 2015
Our wedding planning business, Wishahmon Wedding Creations will be attending Bridal Expo 2015 on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the BMO Center Stampede Park from 10am-5pm. For all the brides that visit our booth, they will be given a card for $250 off any wedding planning service. If you book a consultation appointment with us the day of Bridal Expo, you will get $500 off any wedding planning service. Don't miss out!

Baby Is One Year Old
This has been the most difficult year of my life but I made it through with a happy and healthy baby! She will be turning one years old this month. There will be lots of cake to celebrate. Mostly for me. She can't eat cake...yet.
